My Story
I was born into wine. A life shaped by vineyards, seasons, patience and standards. I grew up with its creation in Germany, surrounded by tradition and a family of winemakers. Today, I bring that heritage to Canada to make wines with elegance, character, a real sense of place, and a complete respect for nature. This is my story, and these are my wines.
Philosophy
When I came to Niagara, I saw a truly inspiring place. A young and exciting wine region with the potential to create wines of distinction and quality. An opportunity to bring old-world values into a new-world setting and let the land and the wine speak for itself. This vision continues to inspire me today.
The Vineyards
For me, wine is born in the vineyard. Everything that happens later depends on the care, restraint and attention given to the vine. My role is not to manufacture the wine. It is to understand it, guide it and let it become the best version of itself. I believe wine should bring pleasure. It should feel generous, expressive and worth sharing. One delightful glass at a time.
The Wines
My vineyards are where the vital decisions are made. Niagara’s cool-climate conditions demand patience, care and close attention. Every vintage begins with the same mission, to bring out the best in this land, honestly, consistently with taste and character. It’s what I love most about being and making wine here.
Germany & Canada
I want every wine I make to feel clear in its character. Balanced. Expressive. Memorable. Some wines should surprise you with their energy. Others should reward you with depth and quiet complexity. But all of them should feel authentic. Good wine does not need to be loud. It simply needs to be true to itself. Quietly confident.
Visit
What’s important is the connection between where I come from and where I am today. My winemaking is shaped by German discipline and European tradition, but it is also inspired by the openness and balance of Canada and the region of Niagara. I see my craft as a bridge between two wine cultures that continue to grow and learn from one another.
